Cleveland Downed, 6-3, by Mariners
|
Led by Chris Brown, the Seattle Mariners defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 6-3. Brown went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Mariners. Rocky Coppinger nailed down his 6th save. Cleveland, at 4-17, has had a dismal start to the season.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Brown delivered big-time for Seattle, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Mike Jeffcoat. The game-changing hit put the Mariners on top, 5-3.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Brown told the Seattle Times.
