Boston Sent Home with 5-4 Loss
The Seattle Mariners beat the Boston Red Sox, 5-4. Seattle pitcher and Oxnard, California, native Aaron Small led the way. Rocky Coppinger got credit for the save for Seattle. It was his 5th of the year. Boston falls to 9-10.

Seattle took a 5-2 lead on Alex Avila's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Avila hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Jason Hammel visibly frustrated.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," Small said.
