Twins Win at Home, 7-5
|
Minnesota third baseman Eddie Lake made his presence felt in the 7-5 Twins triumph over the Seattle Mariners. Lake was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Minnesota pitcher Mike Ryba got the win. He's now 1-1. Red Witt was tagged with the loss. Joe Bonikowski got credit for the save for Minnesota. It was his 1st of the year.
With Minnesota leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Lake hit a curveball from Red Witt for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-0.
Lake told a Minnesota Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Seattle, with the loss, is 10-8.
