Floundering Twins Lose 6th Straight
|
The New York (A) Yankees claimed a close win over the Minnesota Twins, due in large part to Kevin Ritz. The New York (A) right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. Ritz, who finished 5th in the AL in ERA with 3.72 in 1998, went the distance for New York (A). He gave up no runs on 1 hit. New York (A) has rattled off 4 straight wins.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when New York (A) designated hitter Nolan Reimold, facing Jesse Crain, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Yankees the 1-0 win.
"The vibe's good," said New York (A) manager Brett Fogerson. "We've got to keep it going."
