Rockies Shut Out Expos, 4-0
|
The Colorado Rockies scooped up a win at Coors Field, dumping the Montreal Expos, 4-0. Bill Lee, who finished 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 231.2 in 1993, was essential to his team's success. Terrell Wade nailed down his 3rd save. The loss lowers the Montreal record to 9-7.
Colorado took the lead, 4-0, on Johnny Edwards's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Montreal pitcher Dave Boswell in the bottom of the seventh.
"Bill is good at sticking to his strengths," said Colorado manager Ben Thompson.
