Brewers Win, 4-2, Versus Minnesota
|
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Earl Francis to win, 4-2, at Miller County Field. Francis went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Jonathan Broxton got the save, his 34th in 39 chances. The defeat makes Minnesota 78-81.
Hub Walker, who is the top prospect in the Brewers organization, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Walker. "You've got to get results."
