The New York (N) Mets downed the Detroit Tigers, 8-4, at Tiger Stadium. The Mets were led by Zeke Bonura. Bonura went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Don Drysdale. He tossed 122 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. Carl Bouldin sewed up the save, his 3rd.
