Orioles Thwart Astros, 6-4
Soggy conditions did not keep Baltimore and Houston from playing their scheduled game.

The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, taking down the Houston Astros, 6-4. Starting pitcher Lou Fette was a big reason why. The winner was Fette. He threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Jose Lima.

Hack Wilson had a big 2-run home run for the Orioles in the top of the sixth inning. With Baltimore leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Jose Lima, who is tied for 9th in the NL in complete games with 2, and punished it. The result was his 38th home run of the season, which put the Orioles on top, 5-0.

"Lou giving us the start that he did was huge," said Baltimore manager Andre Ivarsson.

The 8th-place Orioles now have a win-loss record of 63-86.
