Rangers Rally Late to Clip Chicago (A)
|
Texas pitcher Hector Noesi had a large part in his team beating the Chicago (A) White Sox, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Texas reliever Mike Soroka, now 1-0. The loser was Ray Narleski. The loss lowers the Chicago (A) record to 10-6.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Texas second baseman Rick Auerbach, facing Ray Narleski, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Rangers the 4-3 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Auerbach said.
