Red Sox Stun Rangers, 11-6
|
Jeff Kent was a major factor in the 11-6 Boston win over Texas. The Red Sox first baseman was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Red Witt came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Boston.
Boston used the timely hitting of Tommy Brown to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Kent said after the game.
