Late Rally by Brewers Locks Up 5-3 Win
|
New York (A) right fielder Donald Harris had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Harris was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Milwaukee beat the Yankees, 5-3. Jonathan Broxton got the save, his 30th in 35 chances. Milwaukee goes to 94-49. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
Milwaukee took a 5-3 lead on Johnny Romano's 21st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Romano hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York (A) pitcher Kevin Ritz visibly frustrated.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Romano. "And not try to do too much."
