A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York (N) Mets.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jose Rijo was in fine form, leading his team past the New York (N) Mets, 6-1. With the victory, the Phillies upped their record to 78-64.

Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Elvis Andrus to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Jamie Dagostini. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
