Rangers Capture Close Win
|
San Francisco got a terrific performance from pitcher Esteban Loaiza, but it wasn't enough to beat the Texas Rangers. Texas won the Eclipse Park contest, 4-3. Loaiza threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Rangers move to 49-89 with the win, while the Giants drop to 68-68.
Texas used the timely hitting of Antonio Perez to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did enough to win," said Perez.
