Astros Deal Twins 6-3 Loss
|
Keith Miller did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minnesota Twins from being beaten, 6-3, to the Houston Astros at Metropolitan Stadium. Miller went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jake Peavy, the winner, improved to 6-13. He held the Twins to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. The Astros sit in 9th place in the National League with a record of 50-87.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Melky Cabrera, the 26-year old right fielder . Cabrera contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put Houston up, 6-2.
Cabrera attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
