Mets Rally to Win
The Mets kept their hot streak going.

The New York (N) Mets found a way to sneak past the Chicago (N) Cubs, 9-8, in 12 innings. New York (N) second baseman Argenis Diaz, for one, had a standout performance. Jay Powell notched his 1st save in 4 chances.

New York (N) used a timely hit from Walt Williams to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Mets ahead, 9-8. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"This game tested our mettle," said Diaz.

The Mets have now reeled off 10 straight wins.
