Losing Trend Continues for Houston
Philadelphia center fielder Michael A. Taylor contributed significantly to his team's 11-8 win over the Houston Astros. Taylor went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Phillies. Joe Johnson earned the win. Cliff Lee, the 7th overall pick in the 1998 draft, took the loss for Houston. Ken Howell, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 32nd save.

Mark Salas had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the first for Philadelphia. With the bases loaded and the Phillies leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Houston manager Claybor Finley.

Philadelphia has run its win streak to 5 straight.
