Yankees Tack 3-1 Loss on Cleveland
|
Starting pitcher Jack Sanford gave the New York (A) Yankees a rock-solid effort. The The United States native helped his team defeat the Cleveland Guardians, 3-1, at League Park. The Yankees now own a record of 58-72.
New York (A) used a clutch at-bat from Barney McCosky to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Sanford.
