The Chicago (N) Cubs grabbed a win, 11-5, over the Houston Astros at Wrigley Field. Chicago (N) first baseman Hank Greenberg went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The Astros, now 46-81, have lost 7 straight.

Jack Rothrock had a big 2-run double for the Cubs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago (N) leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from former first overall pick Jake Peavy and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 31st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cubs ahead, 6-3.

Afterward, Houston manager Claybor Finley said: "Every team has a bad week."
