Mariners Stun Orioles, 14-10
|
Hubie Brooks was a major factor in the 14-10 Seattle win over Baltimore. The Mariners third baseman was 2 for 5 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner was Larry Miller in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jeff Zimmerman took the loss. Bobby Jenks wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
Babe Barna came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 12-10. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Seattle manager Tyler Jorgensen.
Seattle has 3 straight wins, Baltimore 3 straight losses.
