Minnesota Upended, 7-6, by Texas
|
The Texas Rangers defeated the Minnesota Twins, 7-6, at Globe Life Field. Leading the charge for Texas was right fielder Brandon Moss. He went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3. Texas pitcher Mike Soroka earned the win, hiking his record to 7-2. Rich Rodriguez suffered the loss. Mike Schooler recorded the save, making him 17 for 19.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Joe Nossek came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Rich Rodriguez, he hit a 1-0 screwball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Texas on top, 6-5.
"Enjoyed this one," Nossek told the Texas News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Rangers go to 47-78 with the win.
