Seattle Downed, 7-5, by Brewers
|
Milwaukee catcher Johnny Romano was a significant contributor in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Seattle Mariners. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Brewers. The winner in relief was Steve Kline. He is now 4-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Earning the save was Jonathan Broxton. He's now cashed in 27 of 31 save opportunities.
Romano had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Bobby Jenks, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Brewers a 7-5 lead. It was the 25th home run of the year for Romano.
"I like our moxie," said Brewers manager Mike Ejercito.
The American League-leading Brewers are 79-42.
