The New York (A) Yankees racked up a win at Yankee Stadium, bumping off the New York (N) Mets, 4-3. Gary Gentry, who started for New York (A), pitched effectively for his team. The Mets fall to 5-8 and continue their sputtering start to the 2000 season.

Nolan Reimold hit a run-scoring double off Carl Hubbell in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Yankees in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Reimold had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
