Brewers Upend Twins, 7-2
|
At Metropolitan Stadium, the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Minnesota Twins, 7-2, at Metropolitan Stadium. Hee-seop Choi, who is tied for 6th in the AL in RBI with 78, starred for Milwaukee. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Brewer. He tossed 98 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Rich Gedman? The Milwaukee catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brewers on top, 3-1. For the game, Gedman had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Gedman told the Milwaukee Citizen.
The American League-leading Brewers have a record of 77-40.
