Rueter Deals Cleveland 5-0 Setback
|
Chicago (N) Cubs starter Kirk Rueter pitched his team past the Cleveland Guardians, 5-0. Early on, the Cubs, at 9-3, have put the pedal to the metal.
It was a masterful performance from the popular Rueter, who notched 9 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 3 hits. Rueter goes to 1-1 on the year with 13 strikeouts.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Rueter said.
