Guardians Topple Expos, 4-1, as Dalrymple Shines
|
The exploits of catcher Clay Dalrymple, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Cleveland Guardians defeat the Montreal Expos, 4-1. Dalrymple was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The Guardians raised their record to 45-67.
Luis Urias, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1995 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Urias contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Cleveland up, 2-1.
"Makes our job easier," said Urias, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
