Seattle Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Seattle Mariners electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

Houston got a valiant performance from pitcher Cliff Lee, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Mariners. Seattle won the game, 7-4. Lee threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Seattle reliever Enoli Paredes picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. David Carpenter absorbed the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Don Mattingly in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher David Carpenter to win the game for Seattle. The home crowd went nuts.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Mattingly.

Seattle is now 69-41, while Houston is 43-67.
