Yankees Lose to Rockies, 5-4
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Colorado Rockies and New York (A) Yankees.
The Colorado Rockies picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York (A) Yankees, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jerome Williams played a key role in the triumph. Williams yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 10-7.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Charlie Engle? The Colorado shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rockies on top, 3-1. For the game, Engle had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Colorado manager Ben Thompson.
Colorado has now won 4 straight.
