Yankees Earn 5-3 Home Win
|
Starting pitcher Jack Sanford pitched well enough to help the New York (A) Yankees beat the Chicago (A) White Sox, 5-3. Harry Feldman got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances. New York (A), at 47-58, sits in 6th place in the American League.
Nolan Reimold dealt the White Sox a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and New York (A) leading 3-0, Reimold, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1998 draft, hit a 2-0 curveball for a 2-run single.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Sanford.
