Yankees Score Late, Clip Brewers, 4-3
|
The Yankees grabbed a win, 4-3, at Yankee Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Tom Brewer. Brewer went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Dillon Gee, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The Yankees have now won 5 straight.
New York (A) took a 4-3 lead on Desmond Jennings's 17th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Jennings hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Milwaukee pitcher Ed Vosberg visibly frustrated.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Milwaukee manager Mike Ejercito. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
