Kemp Pops Two Homers in 6-4 Win for St. Louis
The St. Louis Cardinals got their 2000 Fellowship of Respect and Trust season off to a good start, defeating the Montreal Expos, 6-4. Matt Kemp set the pace. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Johnny Welch earned the win for St. Louis. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0.
