Trash Pandas Come up Short of Playoffs Wednesday, August 21st, 1968 They put up a valiant effort, but the Rock City Trash Pandas didn't have what it takes to make the MLB Triple A playoffs in 1968. The club was officially eliminated from postseason qualification today. "Sucks," said Trash Pandas left fielder Don Demeter. Before this season, the Trash Pandas last missed the playoffs in 1961. In the 22 years they have been a MLB Triple A franchise, they have missed the playoffs 9 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 3 times. Rock City last won the World Series in 1963. |
