Chavez Chosen 1969 SL2 Most Valuable Player Award

Eric Chavez took MLB Triple A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 19.
For his spectacular campaign, the New Haven Ravens star has been named the 1969 Sub League 2 Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the third baseman.
On the season he compiled a .268 batting average to go with a .363 on-base percentage. The native of Los Angeles, California also added 24 doubles, 1 triple, 37 home runs, 91 RBIs and 94 runs scored.
He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 16. Bobby Bonilla of the Newark Bears finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Curt Blefary of the Hudson Valley Renegades finished third with 2 first place votes.
