Espinoza Rips Durham for 5 Hits Monday, August 25th, 1969 Thanks to Alvaro Espinoza and his big bat, the Bengals derailed the Durham Bulls 12-6 today at Ballpark of Huntington Beach. The Huntington Beach shortstop had a standout game with 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Alvaro Espinoza grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Aaron Thompson in the 8th. Currently Espinoza is batting .279 with 105 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 41 runs and scored 36 times. |
