Star of the Week Honored in SL2 Monday, August 18th, 1969 The votes have been cast and counted and the winner of the Sub League 2 Player of the Week has been chosen. It was presented earlier today to Gary Sutherland for his red-hot week of hitting. The Newark second baseman took home the trophy by splurging with 13 hits in 26 at-bats for a .500 batting average, driving in 9 runs and scoring 8 times. This year Sutherland has batted at a .291 pace with 137 hits, 14 home runs, 59 RBIs and scored 79 times. |
