The Kendall West Nailers did little to support starter Gabe Molina against the Colorado Springs Fusion, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Fusion, striking out 12 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Molina allowed Kendall West to escape with the 1-0 win despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said 'Gabe, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Molina told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

For the season Molina has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 12-8 won-lost mark and a 3.52 ERA. In pitching 179 innings, he has totaled 198 strikeouts and 40 walks.
