McCarty Gone for Season in New Haven Thursday, July 31st, 1969 The season is ending on a bad note for Dave McCarty, closer for the New Haven Ravens. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. McCarty was hurt against the Madison Velocity while throwing a pitch. He suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and will be out for at least 6 months. This season McCarty has notched 7 saves with 45 strikeouts and 25 walks in 39.1 innings while registering a 4.35 ERA and a 4-5 won-lost record. |
