Razor-Sharp Washburn Blanks Reno Monday, July 21st, 1969 Jarrod Washburn handcuffed the Reno Aces at Nailers Ballpark today, coming away with a 3-hit, complete game shutout. "I had everything working for me out there," the Kendall West Nailers left-hander said later. "I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted." With his stuff working, Washburn had little trouble with the Aces and led the Nailers to victory, 6-0. He recorded 10 strikeouts and 2 walks in an impressive performance. On the season Washburn has 10 wins and 6 losses and a 3.90 ERA. |
