Gassaway Twirls Shutout Wednesday, July 16th, 1969 The Reno Aces rolled to an easy 8-0 win over the Plano Acorns at Titans Ballpark today. Leading the way to victory was starter Charlie Gassaway, who shackled the Plano Acorns and held them scoreless on a 4-hitter. "This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Gassaway said in his postgame press conference. Checking out his stats for the season, Gassaway has notched 8 wins and 8 losses in 18 starts, 4.07 ERA and struck out 176 batters in 135 innings. |
