3 Boomers for Coleman
Friday, April 11th, 1969
Albuquerque Blues third baseman Dusty Coleman sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.

Prior to the start of today's contest with the Kendall West Nailers, Coleman told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.

"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."

The big day from Coleman pushed the Blues past the Nailers, 9-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.

"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Coleman told reporters after the game.

Dusty Coleman hit a two-run home run off Gabe Molina in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Gabe Molina in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off J A Happ in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
